This site, along with several others I run, LinkedIn Profile Writing, CE Training, are built on the WordPress platform using a design framework called Divi, by Elegant Themes (affiliate link).

Divi is the holy grail for website builders, professional and aspiring. Using the page builder, you can visually customize page layouts, colors, background pictures, videos and more…without knowing any code.

The package comes with many layouts pre-built, along with an additional free download for eight more “corporate” layouts. So if you want to build a home page, product page, blog and about-me page, you can do this all in less than an hour.

Because the platform is so flexible, all of your sites can have a unique look and feel to them. For instance, I wanted this personal blog to be simple, and really focus on the words on the screen.

Other site’s I’ve built focused on delivering a powerful and compelling sales message driving action on the page, or use image and video to engage the viewer.

The only problem with Divi out of the box is that the body text tends to be small and faded. I’ve corrected the font size issue with the following custom CSS.

#top-menu li {font-size:18px;}body {
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: 500;
line-height: 1.6;
}h1 { font-size: 40px; }
h2 { font-size: 30px; }
h3 { font-size: 22px; }
h4 { font-size: 18px; }
h5 { font-size: 16px; }
h6 { font-size: 14px; }.et_pb_blog_grid h2 { font-size: 24px; }
